My Coaching Philosophy
My coaching philosophy centres on the power of the conversation. I coach for transformation rather than just information, offering high challenge with high support. The coaching relationship is a reflective, explorative and experiential solutions focussed partnership. It is based on non judgmental, positive regard for the client. This learning journey aims to increase the client's self awareness, inner confidence and optimum performance at work.
I draw on Positive Psychology, Existential Coaching techniques, self empowerment theory and Psychoanalytic Systems thinking. Clients are encouraged to hold themselves accountable for their learning and consequent choice of actions or behaviours.
Some clients are quick to experiment with new ideas or approaches. Others choose to explore an uncomfortable or challenging situation for longer, to understand the deeper layers of what is going on for them. The result is emergent, sustained learning that benefits both the individual and their organisation.
Clients say they feel they are growing as leaders. They're winning more new business. They're happier at work and at home. They are self-coaching between coaching sessions and beyond the end of the coaching programme. People in their team are noticing the difference and feeling more empowered too.
On 6 month follow up, clients report deeper, more sustained and more meaningful impact than other training or even MBA courses they have done.
